Welcome!

Please do take a couple of minutes to read the details below as it explains what you can expect from our workshops.

Our new CODE Course is three consective week sessions on a Wednesday from 1630-1730 inside FabLab Exeter.

Places are very limited so booking is essential. It will not be possible to turn up without a ticket. For this workshop, participants need to be aged 8 to 15yrs. Emergency contact details will be completed during the checkout process.

Please note that we need a minimum of four people to book for the workshop to go ahead. If less than 4 tickets are sold, we will contact you and refund your payment. Participants should be dropped off at the FabLab and collected at the end of the workshop unless you give permission for them to leave at the end in the checkout process.

About this Workshop:

In our CODE Course, our Digital Making Tutor, Marcus Brown, will run through three CODE Projects over the three workshops using MicroBIT version 2 which send code from the laptop to the MicroBIT with Bluetooth. The projects will include the temperature sensor, programming the buttons, sound plus the LED matrix. We will also make use of the accelerometer and compass sensors too.

This course will run from 1630 - 1730 on Wednesdays 12 NOV, 19 NOV and 26 NOV.

This workshop includes:

Three workshops that develop coding skills using code-blocks using a MicroBIT v2. We will use MicroBITs that belong to the FabLab but there is an optional add-on in the checkout for if you would like to purchase a MicroBIT version 2. Ordering it through us at cost-price will save you paying for postage and packing. They would be given out in the third session to take home at the end. It is not necessary to purchase one - just if you would like to.

At the end of the course, we will email you some notes of code that we have covered during the workshops and will include any saved code that your child/ren have created.

A few things to note:

Refunds - our policy is no refunds. If you are unable to attend, please let us know as we are running a waiting list and, if we can resell your ticket, we will refund your ticket (but not the Eventbrite fee). If we cannot resell your ticket then no refund will be issued. If you are unable to attend then please notify us as soon as possible and then we can 'release your ticket'.

If we have to cancel a workshop for any reason, we will refund you your payment in full.

Late Arrival - It will not be possible to join the workshop if you arrive more than 15 minutes late. By this time, we are getting into the technical content of the workshop and it's not possible to go back over what we have already covered.

Mobile Phones - Mobile phones should not be used in the workshop. It is ok for participants to have a phone with them but they must not be used in the session. If you have any further questions - please do email us at:fablab@librariesunlimited.org.uk

Any questions? If so, please do email me and I will come back to you. I work part-time so it can take 2-3 days to receive a reply sometimes.

Many thanks,
