Welcome to our Home-Ed ROBOTics Workshop!
In these new workshops, your child/ren will get to build their own robot and learn to program it. The robot includes distance sensors, a line-following sensor, multiple LEDs that can change colour and a pen drawing function. The ROBOT is run by a BBC micro:bit which will also be supplied.
This course is running on three consecutive Wednesdays 1000-1200 and attendance at all three sessions is required.
The three workshop dates: Saturdays 27 September, 4th October and 11th October.
The course is for children aged 10-15yrs. Unfortunately, for this course, children under 10 years are not permitted to attend.
What does the course include:
- three sessions of tuition
- a MOVE robot including various sensors
- batteries
- a micro:bit
- printed copies of coding examples and suggested websites to continue programming the robot and/or the micro:bit
(It is worth noting that the robot alone costs £35 with batteries and a cable!)
At the end of the third session, attendees will get to take their robot home with some printed resources and suggested websites.
Illness - if your child is ill for any reason please do not attend. If a child is unable to attend any of the sessions, they will still get to have the robot at the end.
Refunds - our policy is no refunds. If your child is unable to attend any of the sessions you will not be rufunded but you will still get to have the robot and resources. If you know you can't attend before the course starts, please let us know as we may be able to resell your ticket and then refund the ticket price (but not the Eventbrite fee).
If we have to cancel a workshop for any reason, we will contact you with an alternative date or refund you in full including fees.
Late Arrival - It will not be possible to join the workshop if you arrive more than 15 minutes late. By this time, we are getting into the technical content of the workshop and it's not possible to go back over what we have already covered.
Mobile Phones
Mobile phones should not be used in the group session. It is ok for participants to have a phone with them but they must not be used in the session.
