About this event
Welcome!
Please do take a couple of minutes to read the details below as it explains what you can expect from our workshops.
Our workshops are based on a design and make principle. Participants will be guided through a design project and then we will make their design for them to have in the workshop.
We are very much looking forward to these Storyfest workshops as it's the first time we have worked in collaboration with Aardman.
Places are very limited so booking is essential. It will not be possible to turn up without a ticket. For this workshop, participants need to be aged 6 to 15yrs. Emergency contact details will be completed during the checkout process. Children aged 6 or 7yrs must have an adult stay for the workshop to support their designing.
Please note that we need a minimum of four people to book for the workshop to go ahead. If less than 4 tickets are sold, we will contact you and refund your payment. Participants should be dropped off at the FabLab and collected at the end of the workshop unless you give permission for them to leaver at the end in the checkout process.
About this Workshop:
In our workshops, our Digital Making Tutor, Marcus Brown, will briefly run through how the process works and will give a short demonstration pointing out some of the key design techniques needed for the session. Following this, attendees get to create their own designs and Marcus will support any issues or help with more complicated requests.
In this workshop, your child will learn how to use a web-based design site - Canva - to create their own design. Then, using dye-sublimation printing, we will print the transfer sheet and heat-press their design onto their mug.
We have specific permission from Aardman to use a set of their images related to Wallace and Gromit plus Shaun the Sheep. We will only be using the images supplied for these workshops but there are enough to create lots of choice! We are very grateful to Aardman for allowing us to make use of their images.
This workshop includes:
One white T-shirt with an almost A3 sized full-colour print either on the front or the back.
A few things to note:
Refunds - our policy is no refunds. If you are unable to attend, please let us know as we are running a waiting list and, if we can resell your ticket, we will refund your ticket (but not the Eventbrite fee). If we cannot resell your ticket then no refund will be issued. If you are unable to attend then please notify us as soon as possible and then we can 'release your ticket'.
If we have to cancel a workshop for any reason, we will refund you your payment in full.
Late Arrival - It will not be possible to join the workshop if you arrive more than 15 minutes late. By this time, we are getting into the technical content of the workshop and it's not possible to go back over what we have already covered.
Mobile Phones - Mobile phones should not be used in the workshop. It is ok for participants to have a phone with them but they must not be used in the session. If you have any further questions - please do email us at:fablab@librariesunlimited.org.uk
Any questions? If so, please do email me and I will come back to you. I work part-time so it can take 2-3 days to receive a reply sometimes.
Many thanks,
Marcus Brown
