Please register now to join us on 1st November and hear from guest presenter Theresa Griffin MEP. Theresa was elected to the European Parliament in May 2014 as the top Labour Party candidate in the region, to represent the North West of England. There, she works as a full member and Labour Party Spokesperson for Industry, Research and Energy and a substitute member on the Transport and Tourism committee. Theresa has also been assigned the EU-Russia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee as her Delegation, and is a substitute member for the Delegation for Relations with the People’s Republic of China. Issues Theresa has worked on include the establishment of a Market Stability Reserve for the EU Emissions Trading System in the Industry, Research and Energy Committee; fuel poverty, regional funding, equalities, the promotion of a digital single economy and the protection of IPR.
Who better, then, to give an insider’s view of the legislative workings of Brussels and its reaction to a post-Brexit Britain?
As always, the Mersey Maritime team, will be welcoming you to the meeting, updating you on recent news and some of the strategically important initiatives we’re involved in and helping to connect members individually, before and after the meeting. New members are introduced at the start of the meeting and there’ll be time to network informally over breakfast either side of the main meeting.
Breakfast is available from 07.45am (for an 8.00am start).
