About this event

Join us for the first of 4 classes delivered at Co-op Dewsbury childrens centre.

We recommend attending from 28-30 weeks due date December 2025/January 2026.

This session will include:

  • Physiology, hormones and stages of labour​
  • Early labour and how to manage at home
  • When to call the hospital​
  • Pain management options​
  • Delivering the placenta​
  • Recovery from birth
  • Perineal care, wellbeing and emotions

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE OTHER CLASSES IN THIS SERIES NEED TO BE BOOKED SEPERATELY IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND.

Please book only ONE ticket. This will admit you and ONE companion.

Spaces are limited, therefore please only book a place if you are certain that you can attend and please CANCEL your place via Eventbrite if you cannot attend.

PLEASE book under pregnant persons name.

These classes are for women and partners booked to have their baby with Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Trust or who see a Mid Yorkshire Community Midwife but are having their baby elsewhere. If you do not fit this criteria your booking will be cancelled.

The content covered in the face-to-face classes are:

  • Class 1 - labour and birth.
  • Class 2 - Induction and interventions (assisted birth&caesarean).
  • Class 3 - early days with your baby and expectations of newborns.
  • Class 4 - infant feeding and practical baby cares.

*PLEASE note that there is no online class 4, as online class 3 covers the same content as face-to-face class 3&4*

*The full day Saturday class covers the same content as class 1,2,3 and 4*
