Facial Palsy - an overview for Speech and Language Clinicians

Attendees will gain insight into the anatomy and physiology of the facial nerve, common causes and classifications of facial nerve palsy, and the functional and psychosocial impact on patients. The session will explore current therapeutic approaches, including facial neuromuscular retraining, stretching, eye care, and patient education. Practical clinical tips, case examples, and outcome measurement tools will be discussed to support individualized treatment planning and optimize functional recovery across acute, subacute, and chronic stages of facial nerve palsy.
