Facilitation: Riding the Emotional Rollercoaster
Facilitating can be an emotional rollercoaster! Elation, despair, satisfaction, relief, inspiration, tiredness, fear and tension – a ‘ride’ to rival anything you find at any fairground!
Attending to how you are emotionally affected throughout the whole facilitation cycle is important for your own wellbeing. Equally, emotions are a useful source of personal data which, if shared selectively with the group, can lead to more open, trusting and impactful conversations where people share what they really think and feel.
This Parking Chart* session will provide an opportunity to explore:
how you are emotionally impacted by the groups and people you work with
the stories and expectations you carry that make the emotional rollercoaster more of a ‘bumpy ride’
- steps you can take to use your emotions creatively and effectively
The session will be participative and facilitated by members of the Parking Chart.
The event is on 1st December 2016.
You are invited to arrive from 2:30pm to meet with other members of the Parking Chart. Facilitators from Kinharvie will also be present if you want to talk through any issues you are facing.
The session starts at 3pm and finishes at 6pm.
After the session, you are also invited to come for a drink / something to eat at a local bar.
