Join Contracts Manager Julian Perry and Production Manager Stuart Hateley on a tour of Sparlonz Plasticz, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of vacuum formed components, and learn more about the opportunities these processes offer designers, artists and makers.
This factory visit provides an opportunity to look inside Sparlonz Plasticz' 54,000 square foot manufacturing facility, see the equipment and processes that enable them to form plastics and learn from their 25 plus years of experience of vacuum forming and other thermoplastic processes and applications on a range of scales - from one off prototyping to large scale production.
Our Factory Visit events dive deeper into one process or material. We’re teaming up with some of Birmingham’s most interesting and established workshops and factories to give you a chance to see production processes in action. As well as seeing how things work you will have the chance to ask all the questions you can think of.
This event is for artists, designers and other creative producers and is part of an ongoing programme of Workshops and Factory Visits which aim to develop skills and produce stronger links and working relationships between the creative sector and manufacturers, material suppliers and workshops within the Birmingham postcode.
Sparlonz is just 16 minutes from Redditch Train station (via bus and a short walk). Where possible we will try and arrange car-shares from Birmingham for people without their own transport.
