Event description

Description

Whether you’re an HR or L&D professional in a law firm; coach lawyers (or would like to); or are a lawyer yourself, this interactive session is aimed at you. Is coaching lawyers so very different from coaching other professionals and executives? In some ways no; in other ways their training, together with some common personality traits of lawyer, combined with the particular organisational, ownership and leadership structure of law firms, set them apart. The potential for adding value through coaching lies across a wide variety of roles including junior lawyers, Partners, senior Management and practice support operations, as well as at the many staging posts, for example from Associate to Partner, from Partner to top leadership team, and ultimately transitioning out at the end of a legal career. The routes of access for coaches to these diverse markets within a firm are different, as are the price points and the demands on a coach’s credibility. Your expert guides to this complex topic are MC Faculty Members Dick Tyler and Keith Krasny. They will share the benefits of their experience, answer questions from the audience and facilitate a discussion to enhance your understanding of the complexities, challenges and opportunities of coaching and the law. Dick Tyler was Senior Partner and Managing Partner of CMS Cameron McKenna LLP and Executive Partner of its European business between 2000 and 2014, having previously had a successful practice as a mergers and acquisitions lawyer. Since then, Dick has acted as a coach and consultant to business leaders in professional service organisations, including lawyers in private practice and in-house positions. He is also co-founder of Tyler Wilson, a bespoke executive coaching and advisory service for law firm leaders. Keith Krasny has nearly two decades of corporate and commercial experience as a technology and media lawyer in fast-paced, international businesses, including serving as VP and European General Counsel for Expedia and as acting UK General Counsel for AOL and The Huffington Post UK. Keith now practices as a coach with The Alexander Partnership and is currently writing his first novel.
