Stay On. Go Far. Your postgraduate study options at Sheffield.

Are you thinking about your options after graduation? Want to stay in your department or thinking about pursuing a new area?

As part of the Science Postgraduate Showcase there will be an information session where you can find out more about masters and PhD opportunities at Sheffield. There will be advice on choosing the right course and how to apply as well as information on scholarships and funding. You will then have an opportunity to visit the exhibition where you can meet current postgraduate students and discover the exciting research which underpins their postgraduate learning.

The session will begin at 1pm in the Alfred Denny Conference Room (entrance on the concourse, near to the Alfred Denny lecture theatres). After a brief information session you will then have the oppertunity to visit the Showcase event and meet PhD students from across the faculty and to hear about their exciting research.

About the Faculty of Sciece Graduate School Showcase

Every year postgraduate research students from across the Faculty’s seven departments present their research in poster form in the Octagon.

The aims of the event are:

• To showcase the excellence of the Faculty of Science research.

• To increase awareness amongst students and staff of the wide range of research being carried out and to encourage interdisciplinary thinking and collaboration across the Faculty.

• To develop confidence in our students in the communication of their work to scientists in other disciplines.

This is a great opportunity to talk to postgraduate students from different disciplines and find out more about the breadth of our Faculty’s research and what PhD study is really like. The event will also provide an opportunity for you to engage with exhibitors from our suppliers and from University of Sheffield research support teams - including advice and information about how to apply.
