Starting as a teacher in HE can be a lonely experience. The supporting structures and informal opportunities that exist in other education sectors aren’t present (staff rooms, inset days etc.). New teaching staff have few opportunities to network with colleagues, share experience and resources.
This short event will introduce new teaching staff to the structures and support for teaching and learning available to them within UCL and in particular from the Faculty of Engineering and CALT. All designed to help support faster engagement with the teaching and learning community at UCL.
Welcome: Professor Nigel Titchener-Hooker, Dean of Engineering
Education and Teaching Within the Engineering Context: What We’re Aiming to Achieve and Support Available Within the Faculty: Professor John Mitchell, Vice Dean Education
UCL Connected Curriculum and UCL Arena: Dr Jenny Marie, Senior Teaching Fellow
Events, Networking, Mentoring, Peer Dialogue and Support: Jane Burns, Principal Teaching Fellow, School of Management
Refreshments will be available.
