Faeries- Forever Fading, Never Gone with John Kruse

Hosted at The Last Tuesday Society on Monday 22nd September

Faeries- Forever Fading, Never Gone

For hundreds of years, writers on British folklore have described how it was their grandparents' generation who believed in faeries, but everyone now is far too modern and sophisticated to believe in such nursery tales. This has been said since the sixteenth century, and yet reports of faery sightings continue to be received. The little folk, evidently, have not obligingly vanished as predicted. In this lecture, faery folklorist John Kruse will examine the phenomenon of the perpetually disappearing faes- always yesterday, never today and who refuse to go away- and what that may tell us about ourselves and our beliefs.

John Kruse

John has been interested in folklore and mythology since his early twenties. In 2016 he started the British Fairies blog on WordPress and has since written nearly two dozen books on faerylore for Llewellyn Worldwide and Green Magic Publishing.
