What is Enduro?
Enduro is a race format which has grown massively in popularity over the last few years due to its laid-back nature and similarity to a regular bike ride. It is an extremely sociable way to race mountain bikes as only certain sections of the course are timed (mostly downhill sections), so you can enjoy a leisurely pace on the untimed transition sections, and save your energy for the timed bits.
The Timed Bits
Oh yes, the timed bits. They're good.....really good! Last year we had an absolutely stonking course with some top singletrack descents and a fun park thrown-in for the showboaters. This year we've made it even better this year by adding more timed forest stages (6 in total) and shortening the queues. As we said, it's good!!
In case you didn't realise Fair City Enduro is slightly differently from every other Enduro as it's held on Halloween week, so we like to encourage a bit of Fancy Dress. It's not obligatory, but this is your one chance to shred some superb trails dressed as a Superhero, a Giant Carrot or whatever else you Muckin' fancy!
We saw some cracking outfits in 2013 and just know you'll raise the bar again this year, so we'll be awarding spot-prizes to those who've made that extra special effort to stand out from the Muckin' crowd!
Fair City Enduro - In a Nutshell
A family-friendly weekend of riding top-notch trails and testing top-notch bikes, dressing-up like a dafty and having a great laugh. There will be stuff for kids, stuff for grown ups, quality tunes and great banter....
......and no doubt a tiny spit of rain. It's not called Muck-Medden for nothing you know :-)
