About this event

Hastings Early Music Festival brings international performers to Hastings for concerts at St Mary in the Castle and Kino Teatr.

Sound of Times traces music back through time from Beethoven and Bach to Rameau and Purcell to venture beyond traditional classical music boundaries.

Members of Dame Emma Kirkby’s ensemble Dowland Works, Fair Oriana was formed in 2019 from a passion for historical music with entertaining staging. Their debut album ‘Two Voices was released in 2021 with VOCES8 records, three of the tracks being featured in Spotifys New Classical Release playlists. They perform in the UK and internationally including Three Choirs Festival, the Ryedale Festival, Sherbourne Abbey, and the Resonarzen Festival in Vienna.

Their programme ‘Silver Baroque’ is an atmospheric programme of 17th and 18th century music on the theme of night.
