Event description

The Fairlop Waters Active and Social Community Project is a community project funded by the Mayor of London Stronger Communities Fund whose aim is to improve the mental and physical wellbing of local residents and to reduce loneliness and isolation.

The project is primarily aimed at residents within the Hainault ward of Redbridge and is suitable for adults of all ages and ability, including non-rders.

The project will run over 11 weeks and there are two cycling sessions available per week on a Monday and Friday at 10.30am. Bikes and helmets are provided.

The project will use physical activity to build relationships, connecting different social, age, ethnic and religious groups thereby strengthening community understanding, and helping to reduce isolation and loneliness by providing those who do not get an opportunity to socialise to meet other people.
