Spend a May evening (or morning) in the company of Boneless, the Portunes, and Churnmilk Peg.
Using folklorist Katherine Briggs' classic Dictionary of Fairies as our guide, in this relaxed writing workshop we'll learn about some lesser-known fairy folk from around the British Isles.
After being introduced to several colourful characters and strange creatures from regional folklore, we'll use writing games and exercises to spark our own story ideas. Whether you're a fantasy writer looking for a different flavour of fae, or a folk horror author seeking some sinister inspiration, the Dictionary of Fairies has a story for you.
You'll have the opportunity to share your writing but it's totally up to you whether you'd like to do so. Suitable for ages 12+, no previous writing experience is necessary. The workshop will be recorded and the video will be shared with everyone who has signed up soon afterwards.

About me
My fantasy, horror, and science fiction short stories and poems have been published in magazines including Translunar Travelers Lounge, Electric Spec, and Wyldblood Magazine, and included in popular anthologies produced by Air and Nothingness Press, Dark Dispatch, and Ghost Orchid Press. I'm also the editor of Inner Worlds magazine.
I've been delivering successful in-person and online classes, talks, and workshops for individuals, charities, community groups, and schools for over a decade.
Before that, I studied MSc Gender, Sexuality, Politics & Culture at Birkbeck College, University of London, and BA English Literature at King's College, University of Cambridge.
