You are invited to join us to discuss the relationship between the big picture of the Bible and a 21st Century global industry that relates to each of us.
The evening will be based around a new book - ‘The Character of Fashion’ - by former Chief Operating Officer of the British Fashion Council, Simon Ward, which asks the question “If God was boss where you work, how might He run things?”
Issues covered will range from design and purpose to freedom and exploitation, looking at how the big Biblical themes of redemption and restoration might play out in an industry that can be a source of great pleasure and expression yet, at the same time, grapples with a destructive impact on the environment and the wildly disproportionate benefits enjoyed by those at the different ends of the supply chain.
This evening event will provide insight into the industry and the big issues it faces, providing a chance to discuss what lies behind them and considering how an industry with such a challenging reputation might be changed to become a leading global force for the good of all.
Whether we are working in the industry or a consumer, we are all connected to the fashion industry so the invitation is extended to all.
