Faith and Theology in Transition: an exploration of Isaiah 56-66

Faith and Theology in Transition: an exploration of Isaiah 56-66

By St Paul's Cathedral Institute

Overview

Join us as Janet Tollington explores the significance of the final chapters of the book of Isaiah.

The story of Isaiah 56-66 is one of community tensions, priestly rivalries and the beginnings of sectarianism. In this workshop, Janet Tollington dives into the origins of these chapters and weaves together the literary and theological connections between them and the rest of the Book of Isaiah.

Join us to explore the distinctive theology of these remarkable chapters and to reflect on their significance.

The Revd Dr Janet Tollington is an Old Testament scholar and a retired Minister in the United Reformed Church. She taught Hebrew and Old Testament within the Cambridge Theological Federation, an ecumenical body for lay and ordained ministry training and still teaches undergraduates for Cambridge colleges. A much-loved teacher, she is back with us by popular demand.
