Description

"The Bomb That Changed Everything"
An Interview With L/Cpl Derek Derenalagi

Overview:
In July 2007, whilst on a tour of duty in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, Derek’s vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device (IED). After losing both his legs above the knee, Derek was declared dead on an operating table at Camp Bastion. Five years on from that day, he entered the London 2012 Olympic stadium as a Team GB Paralympian. At the 2014 Invictus Games Derek won 3 Gold medals and 1 Silver medal.

The five years between being declared dead on the battlefield to becoming one of the country's elite Paralympic athletes is an incredible story. The hard work, dedication and unwavering belief to achieve his goals inspire any audience who hear Derek speak.

In this exclusive Faith@Work interview Derek will tell his moving story of recovery, perseverance, hope and service. We’ll also explore how Derek’s Christian faith impacts his work and purpose in life.
