Event description
Feedback has ‘good’ intentions but is it delivering what we want? Or is it simply a legitimised term for fake news? What do you think?

About this Event

These sessions are part of our Co-creating Consciously series.

Fake News? Feedback?

Q: Have you ever received feedback from someone else which has rocked you to the core? Are you still recovering from it?

Q: Have you totally disagreed with something someone has said about you, but because of their power or position, you have found yourself just ‘sucking it up’? Or did you simply check out of the conversation, or worse, leave the organisation?

Q: Have you ‘felt powerless’ in the face of feedback because it was anonymous and so general that you did not have a clue what they were actually talking about?

Q: Have you ever wondered what is really going on for someone when they say ‘may I give you some feedback’? What do you believe they are actually wanting to ‘give’ you?

Q: Have you ever been THAT person doing the ‘giving’... and are you wondering why the receivers of your valuable feedback deny, withdraw or fight back?

Session 1: Fake News? Feedback? What's the difference?

In this session we are going to start busting the myths surrounding feedback - what it is, what it is (supposed to be) for, who it is (supposed to be) for.

Be ready to feel excited, uncomfortable, affirmed, provoked!

In this first encounter will open the space and lay the ground for us to share our experiences of feedback - giving it and receiving it. As we share and listen to each other, we will gather a compelling, collective account, illuminating why we need something different - something more honest, more responsible, more compassionate, more generative. Please register below for this session.

Session 2: Fake news? Feedback? If not feedback, then what?

The second part of this series is taking part on May 27th 1pm-3pm (link) which intends to explore what we do to respond to feedback and to offer something else to enhance self reflection, learning and regenerative relationships.

PIAC are a not-for-profit Community Interest Company operating on the basis of a Sufficiency Principle. We call those who subscribe to this principle ‘E=ECos’ i.e. ‘Enough equals Enough Contributors'. Our facilitators do not take fees for these events and instead choose to re-invested 100% of our ticket sales to resourcing the learning of our community-in-practice, supporting each of us to pass on Presence in Action everywhere we are in our communities, organisations and families. We also use this funding to provide bursaries and supported places for our learning events and 1:1 support for those unable to pay for themselves.
