Falls Ambassador Workshop
Event Information
About this event
Become a Falls Ambassador in your community. Falls Ambassadors are people who have completed Falls Awareness Training, and are informed and willing to share their knowledge informally as opportunities arise to help others in their family, peer groups or local community. They are also equipped to consider falls as part of risk assessment processes, and may wish to apply for grant funding to hold Falls Awareness events in their communities.
This 2 - 2.5 hour workshop will equip you to:
- Identify risk factors for yourself and others
- Learn about simple ways to address these
- Feel more confident raising the subject of falls with your volunteers, staff and service users
- Signpost others to falls prevention pathways
- Consider falls risk factors when completing dynamic and written risk assessments in a workplace setting
- Make clear commitments for local and organisational actions you can take to help reduce falls risk
- Consider holding a Falls Awareness event (information about small grants to support this will be offered in the training)
- Make small, clear commitments for personal or local actions you can take to help reduce falls risk
To ensure we are able to make the training as useful as possible for each group, please send your responses to the following questions to: fallsawareness@ageukdd.org.uk
1. What is your professional, voluntary or personal interest in falls awareness?
2. What would you like to get out of this falls awareness training session?
3. How would you rate your current knowledge of falls awareness on a scale of 1 - 10, with 1 being no knowledge and 10 being a very high level of knowledge?
PLEASE NOTE: This session is open to attendees from any background, but is particularly suitable for:
