Falls Prevention & Immediate Management of Falls in Nursing & Care Homes
Event Information
About this Event
Falls incidence in care homes is reported to be three times that of the community. This equates to rates of 1.5 falls per care home bed per year.
But.....falls are not inevitable. Many falls are preventable. There are multiple tools and resources to help prevent falls.
This webinar places the emphasis on anticipating and preventing falls. It also looks at managing falls once they occur.
Small changes = big impact.
Simple things = huge difference.
You can make a difference.
REACH Cornwall, have worked in collaboration with Kernow CCG, RCHT and Cornwall Council to create this virtual workshop with the aim of:
- Reducing the likelihood and frequency of falls through effective risk assessment and risk management
- Minimising complications and safely manage unavoidable falls
- Developing knowledge, skills and confidence to assess the person who has fallen, assess the situation and initiate the most appropriate response in a timely manner
- Explore innovative ways to reduce the incidence of falls in Nursing and Care Homes
There will also be a Q & A session.
Ideally, we would like you to book on the date that is linked to the area (Integrated Care Area) where you work. This will enable to get to know each other better, share good practice and learn from each other. However, if you cannot make the webinar for your locality you are welcome to join on an alternative day (all sessions are from 1 - 3.30pm).
