Event description
Join us every Friday from 28 May until 29 Oct in our beautiful garden, to grow together. Open to local families with pre-schoolers.

About this event

You can expect to grow and harvest food, do some planting, take care of seedlings that you can also grow at home, have fun exploring bugs and get stuck into craft activities. There will be something new to do every week!

The sessions are accessible, inclusive and open to all families with pre-schoolers. Please note children must be accompanied by an adult. Make sure you wear appropriate clothes for outdoor play!

Due to Covid regulations, we are limiting the number of people in the garden to a maximum of 5 families at any one time to allow for sufficient social distancing. We also encourage you to book in advance for the sessions though we will leave some margin for drop-in on the day.

Please check our website for our Covid safety precautions. We are monitoring the current situation in Southwark and will update this guidance when necessary. If you would like to ask a question about our safety measures, please email admin@southwarkparkgalleries.org

Organiser Southwark Park Galleries

Organiser of Family Allotment Club

Founded in 1984 by The Bermondsey Artists' Group, Southwark Park Galleries (formerly CGP London) have commissioned and presented over 160 free exhibitions by emergent, overlooked and established British and international artists.

Our mission is to foster artistic career development by providing excellent opportunities for artists and curators to develop their ideas and practice. This is done through the supportive and professional presentation of their work in a unique park setting, integrated within a meaningful community and learning programme.

We exist to enable all members of the community to fully participate and have open access to contemporary art.

Southwark Park Galleries is a registered charity and Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation, supported by the London Borough of Southwark as well as relying on key support from various Trusts, Foundations, sponsors, sales of art, donations and venue hire to sustain our ambitious programme of contemporary art, community engagement and education.

Over the last 35 years we have commissioned and hosted exhibitions by internationally renowned artists including Cornelia Parker, Richard Wilson, Sutapa Biswas, Marcus Coates, Sarah Pickstone, Tai Shani, Ackroyd and Harvey, Marcia Farquhar, Grayson Perry, Peter Liversidge, Eduardo Paolozzi, Anne Bean, Patrick Caulfield, Shona Illingworth, Iain Sinclair, Jonathan Baldock, Andrew Kötting, John Walter, Uta Kogelsberger, Brian Catling, Tony Bevan, Mark Titchner, Graham Fagen, and Mat Collishaw.
