About the day:
This day provides an opportunity for personal growth, soul searching, mindfulness, and reflection.
We can find ourselves held back by the unresolved trauma in our family of origin and our wider system. Our inner pictures and the narrative of our family history do not leave enough space for healing.
Family Constellations provide an opportunity to get clearer about the ways in which we are still entangled, and they can help to reveal some clues about the steps we need to take towards a more healthy autonomy and a mature love - to begin the process of release. We can experience a gentle melting of the rigidity of our view of our family and ourselves; while, with love and deep respect, we give back the heavy burdens we may have been carrying on behalf of others. Constellations seem quite easily to create a sense of shared respect and dignity within the group of participants. Many people report the delight of being able to learn about themselves while also serving to support someone else’s process through having opportunities to stand as a representative in other people’s constellations.
The day will include space for personal work, or live supervision, and some small group exercises, which give an exciting and immediate sense of how the constellating method works. You will get some ideas about how to begin to integrate this way of looking at things into your current practice if you choose to. We can then follow up on these ideas later in the year at a second workshop in November.
Presenter: The Family Constellations workshop will be led by Clare Crombie.
Clare is an experienced UKCP Registered psychotherapist, supervisor and workshop leader, living and working in Edinburgh. She trained at the Gestalt Centre London, UK between 1989 and 1994, and first started to incorporate the Family Constellations approach into her practice after seeing Bert Hellinger work in London in 1996. Clare has gone deeply into the experiential and theoretical study of the constellation work. This continues to be an evolving process, which has been personally, and professionally transforming.
