FAMILY CRAFTS - Flying things in the Spring!
Event Information
Description
The Art House parents and kids group is run by Lisa, a volunteer who is also a Mum and has worked as a playworker. It is informal and parents will be asked to get involved, encourage children to take part in the activities and even make something themselves. The session is a make and do activity for 2 - 8 year olds and thier parents or carers.
Spring is almost upon us and this month we're looking at flying things.. let's see how much we can pack in.
We can plant wildflowers in the newspaper pots we make, to attract butterflies and insects to our windowsills and gardens, or a ladybird house from canes.
We'll look at
some of the birds and bugs we'll see flying around us outside with bird
spotting packs to take home and a ladybird game, or you could make a
bird kite...The group can choose on the day which activities they'd like
to focus on, there'll be more!
Because of the wide age range, the session operates by offering a packed
picnic-spread of activities that the children can choose between. They
will include physical social games to start the session together (for
example parachute, or searching games), a main making activity suitable
for all the children, additional activities for older/younger children
and paper based resources to take home or spark ideas in the session!
This is a family session, so you need to stay with the child you bring at all times and we hope you will join in and make something too.
