Come and find out how to maximise your pupils' time at lunchtime by developing a Family Dining setting.
The purposes of this workshop will be to:
1) help you reflect on your lunchtime arrangements
2) enable you to establish ways to develop your pupils' leadership skills and character during lunch.
3) enable you to see lunch as an intergral part of your pupils' learning day
La Fontaine Academy operates a Family Dining which has been described by advisers at the Children's Food Trust in complimentary terms:
“The staff believe that lunchtimes are an integral part of the academic day. In their “mission” video on the academy’s website they talk about children “learning to serve each other” and developing their “social skills which are so important in life." As a result provision is exemplary. The school closes at lunchtime so all staff can eat with the children. Food is served at the table, family style and the older children work as waiters and waitresses laying out cutlery and plates and bowls.
Numbers will be limited so please book early .
There will be a charge of £75 per school. Schools can bring up to 3 members of staff. Schools will be invoiced prior to the workshop.
