Description

The Women’s British Basketball League (WBBL) season opening weekend is coming to the Essex Sport Arena. The WBBL is the U.K.’s professional basketball league, and the season-opening Trophy weekend will feature all 12 teams from the league including last season’s Championship winners Sevenoaks Suns, last season’s WBBL Cup winners Sheffield Hatters, and defending WBBL Trophy winners Leicester Riders. Colchester’s own professional women’s side, Essex Rebels, will also be in action, opening their season against Durham Palatinates at 5pm on Friday 27th September. The WBBL features a wealth of basketball stars from around the world, including Essex Rebels’ own Jessy Ward, one of the top players in the league last season, as well as many of the GB team who reached the semi-final of this Summer’s European Championship, such as Manchester Mystics’ Georgia Jones.

This is a weekend of high energy action, drama and entertainment that you won’t want to miss.
