Join us for our monthly Family Forest Club! All ages welcome. We offer seasonally inspired activities and quality time in nature. Sessions include campfire cooking, bushcraft, nature craft and conservation skills, plus gardening and tea! All taking place in your local community garden.

Fernee forest club are running family sessions on:

*Sat 19th April* - in Easter holidays
We will be doing spring and Easter activities including natural egg dyeing and scavenger hunts!

All sessions take place at Bevendean community Garden and woods
10am - 1pm, *advance booking essential* as limited spaces.

As always, includes fun in the woods, food cooked on the fire, and seasonal crafts 🍃 please share!

The sessions are ideal for children 8+ and their families, (will be doing bushcraft) but all ages welcome - please text Sara if you would like any more info. 07748140486.

We are going to include an easter trail, as well as bushcraft, hammocks and obstacle course in the woods.

Booking
Please book the number of tickets you need - e.g book 3 for a family of 3, and choose to pay what you can afford at the event. There will be a card machine, or it's also fine to pay cash.

It’s important to us that cost isn’t a barrier to coming!

There is an event in the garden afterwards with shared lunch. Forest Club are welcome to stay.

From Heath Hill Avenue: Turn left up a track, just after the bus stop opposite Bevendean Primary School. Walk a short way and cross over a metal horse gate. Turn left and the garden will be ahead of you.

How do I reach the location by public transport?

Number 48 bus to Heath Hill avenue. The bus stop is called Bevendean Primary School bus stop.

Can I park nearby?

Yes, there is free on-street car parking nearby on Heath Hill Avenue.

What should I wear?

Practical clothing for outdoor fun in different weathers. We recommend bringing layers, as it can be cooler in the woods and very sunny in the garden, so it's good to have options, and the weather is changeable! Long sleeves and closed toed shoes eg trainers are a good idea.

Will there be food and drink available?

Yes, we regularly cook during a session, or provide snacks and hot drinks. There is water tap available for drinking water. If you or your child has any allergies please get in touch before the session. Sara Fernee 07748140486.

Is there a toilet?

Yes there are two compost toilets.

How accessible is the garden?

We are working on making the garden more accessible. The path to the garden from the road has now been resurfaced however there is a further path to the garden which is uneven. There is a metal gate which we can open.

Can I bring my dog?

No, this event is not suitable to bring dogs to.

Can I drop my child off and leave?

No, this is a family event, where the parent or guardian stays with their child/children.

What do I need to bring?

Please dress for all weathers. Bring waterproofs, sun protection, and layers. It's helpful if you can bring a cup and bowl but we have spares if necessary.

Can I come to the family club if I don't live in the surrounding area of Moulsecoomb & Bevendean?

Who runs the monthly family club?

What if the weather is bad?

Forest club will run in all weathers besides winds over 40mph. We have shelters if the rain is heavy, but if it's windy there can be a risk of injury so we will let you know 24hrs before the session if this is the case and we need to cancel.
