About this event
Find Form in Colour
In this 2-hour family friendly hands-on workshop led by local artist Kat, you’ll learn the beautiful and meditative technique of negative watercolour painting – a process that focuses on painting around shapes rather than within them, creating striking, layered effects and soft transitions.
This workshop is family friendly for 8+ years, and is a great introductory session for your children to join in to and learn techniques in watercolour. Whether you're completely new to watercolours or have a little experience, this workshop is perfect for easing into the medium while learning essential techniques like:
- Understanding how watercolour behaves on paper
- Experimenting with colour blending and layering
- Mastering brush control and paint application
- Creating depth and detail using negative space
You'll begin with a series of guided exercises on A5 quality watercolour paper, exploring different brushes, colours, and techniques, before moving on to your final piece — designed either from your own ideas or using templates and references provided.
This is a chance to slow down, tap into your creativity, and discover just how therapeutic and rewarding painting with watercolour can be.
All materials are provided – just bring yourself and a willingness to explore!
Refreshments will also be available.
Spaces are limited, so don’t miss out—book your place today!
