Join our Conservation Officer for a family-friendly outdoor session identifying the wonderful wild coastal birds that can be spotted on Scotland's shores over the autumn period. We'll focus on those you’re likely to see locally in and around North Berwick.
Whether you’re new to the area, new to birdwatching, or you just want an opportunity to chat about the birds you have seen nearby, everyone is welcome to ask questions, share their knowledge and experiences, or simply relax and learn something new.
This event is free but please book a space for all attendees as binoculars are limited.
Route
The session will take place outside, close to the Scottish Seabird Centre. We'll enjoy a short outdoor venture, taking families on a brief return journey onto Milsey Bay beach. Tours will vary depending on what we can see and the particular interests of the participants, but a variety of species and habitats will be explored and discussed.
What will we provide?
Binoculars, ID sheets, alcohol hand-gel (if needed).
What do you need to bring?
Sturdy boots or shoes, clothing appropriate for the weather outside, a drink, any medication you may need, a mobile phone, sun protection (good weather days).
Accessibility
The route includes some gentle slopes, uneven sand, rocky ground, and slippery surfaces. We will always try to adjust the pace and the route to make sure that everyone is comfortable, but please let us know in advance if you have questions or concerns. What if my event is cancelled?
If this event is cancelled, we will get in touch with you the day before to let you know. On rare occasions, we may be in touch on the day of the event. Please keep an eye on your emails prior to the event. You will be refunded.
