Saturday 25th March 2017 (6.30pm 8pm)
Come to Leigh Woods and celebrate Earth Hour! Enjoy a guided walk and night games, see the stars (hopefully!) and find out what goes on when it’s really dark in the woods at night! The first part of the walk will be at dusk, so we will slowly get used to the darkness of the woods. We’ll listen for owls, and maybe bats if it’s warm enough, find out more about badgers and other woodland creatures. Enjoy a warm drink at the end.
Wear warm, waterproof clothing and bring a torch. We will, however, aim to walk without torches most of the time, as torchlight impairs night vision. Please note this event is weather-dependent and for safety reasons we will not be able to continue in heavy rain or high winds.
Family Fun sessions are run by experienced outdoors tutors who are DBS checked and First Aid qualified.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Enter Leigh Woods at the Forestry Commission sign on Abbots Leigh Road. There is plenty of parking at the bottom of the drive. Meet your My Green World tutor by the sign board next to the car park.
