Description

The learning aims and objectives will be:

Aims:

  • To have a general understanding of the characteristics of adolescent Harmful Sexual behaviour
  • To review the most recent practice research in the field
  • To consider victim impacts
  • To explore the potential application of FGC’s in such cases

Objectives:

  • To understand something of the defining characteristics of adolescent HSB and identify the potential suitability of cases
  • To understand the impact upon victims and the potential benefits they might gain from engagement in a HSB/FGC
  • To explore the range of family impacts and experiences of HSB
  • To identify suitable cases to consider for potential FGC and consider issues around agenda setting, facilitation of restorative dialogue and family engagement/planning/ working in partnership/multi disciplinary work
  • Relating practice to current Best Practice Guidelines

Methodology:

A mixture of direct input by PowerPoint presentation, small group exercises and case study work.
