This Summer, we're bringing you four fantastic Family History Days, each one distinct and unique in its own right. From building survival shelters to learning to wattle and daub, playing Roman games to weaving your own yarn; our Family History Days allow you to traverse time, learn about the past, discover new skills and have great fun whilst you do it!
Family History Day: Incredible Iron Age
Be transported back to Ancient Britain to the site of an incredible Iron Age hillfort and village. During this immersive immersive experience you will get to become part of an ancient tribe - you will visit the site of a 2500 year old hill fort, train to become a celtic warrior and defend your clan against invading tribes or even the Romans. You'll handle genuine Iron Age artefacts found on site, make and decorate a sheild, learn build a roundhouse, and cook flatbreads over an open fire—just as Iron Age families once did. It’s a unique opportunity to experience everyday life in ancient Britain through touch, taste, and timeless traditions.
