Wed 22 March 2017, 09:30 – 17:00 GMT
As part of the collaboration between Birkbeck, University of London and IntoUniversity (Supplementary Schools Project), we invite you to join us for the: “Family Learning Conference”
This event is aimed at education, charity, council, or community development professionals, who work with, or are interested in Family Learning or Supplementary school education.
The conference will allow you to spend the day discovering the background and benefits of Family learning and Supplementary schools, from rhetoric to reality.
You will be presented with practical ways in which to incorporate programmes into your institutions, and meet academics and professional services staff in these specialist fields.
The morning will include sessions led by academics and practitioners in the field of Family Learning and Supplementary school education. The speakers will be setting the scene about current practises and research from sectors such as academia, charity, Widening Participation university outreach and local councils.
There will be breakout workshops in the afternoon which are designed to share best practise and give practical advice on how to set up programmes for Family learning, and work with supplementary schools in different contexts and sectors.
