Family Mindfulness Workshop (14th May)
Sun 14 May 2017, 15:00 – 16:30 BST
Join me for a fun and engaging interactive workshop for adults and children (5+) exploring how we can bring mindfulness to our lives in enjoyable and simple ways.
Practising mindfulness isn't just for the trickier times in life, it's a skill which can enhance our happiness, achievements and general peace of mind.
Using a range of fun and easy to remember techniques and practices, you and your children will learn ways to access peace & calm during times of intense emotions and common frustrations. Children will find that mindfulness helps them with relationships, concentration, and feelings of worry, and parents will learn to find more grace amidst the chaos of everyday life.
You will leave having learned lots of ways to bring mindfulness into your daily lives- several different breathing practices you can continue to do either together or individually and some short mindful activities you can slot into busy family life.
We will make some visual mindful reminders for you to use at home and there will be an opportunity at the end to chat or ask questions over a cup of tea/juice and a piece of home made cake!
Research shows that Mindfulness helps to:
-Reduce stress, frustration & anger
-Increase concentration and learning skills
-Improve wellbeing, & increase immunity
-Increase emotional intelligence & enhance relationships
-Increase choices of self-soothing and care
-Increase self-confidence, kindness and compassion
This workshop teaches both parents and children together, giving you a sense of shared understanding and intention when you practise at home afterwards. Although suitable for adults too, the mindful and breathing practices themselves will be delivered at a level appropriate for the children, enabling them to do them alone afterwards without needing guidance from an adult.
This family workshop is designed for parents/carers and children aged 5-13 (older children are very welcome to attend however these sessions are not suitable for under 5's)
All this for only £5 per person
