A series of sessions from Core Skills in Family Ministry including reflections around digital engagement and the impact of the pandemic

We will explore the themes of Core Skills in Family Ministry across the topics below and consider the various influences that have had an impact more recently and how this might begin to shape our ministry for the future. The sessions will take place fortnightly on Tuesday evenings from 7-9pm.

13th Apr Biblical, Historical & Contemporary Contexts of Family Ministry

27th Apr Seasons of Family Life

11th May Family Relationships and Wellbeing

25th May Intergenerational Ministry - participation in the Intergenerate Conference or guided self learning

8th Jun Faith at Home

We hope those who register for the course will be able to attend each evening in order to get the most from the sessions. There will also be some suggested preparatory materials for each session and if there is an evening you aren't available you'll still be able to follow the threads across the course.

You will be able to use the week of 25th May to either utilise self-learning materials on the topic or participate in the Intergenerate Conference http://www.intergenerateconference.com/

There will also be an opportunity to follow on from this course in a community of practice, focusing on the book The Essential Guide to Family Ministry by Gail Adcock.

This course is hosted by Christian Education Association Scotland in partnership with the Methodist Church of Great Britain. Contributors and facilitators include:

If you are interested in exploring some of the ideas that underpin Family Ministry, reflecting on practice with others and sharing your own experience then this is for you! Whether you are a volunteer or paid worker, a lay leader or ordained minister, you are welcome to join with us. We encourage you to attend all sessions, or as many as you can, in order to gain the most from the course.
