Family Nature-Centred Sensory Reset
Totally Zen and Roam & Rewild are delighted to invite you to their mini half-day retreat for any family looking for a sensory-orientated activities that will calm your nervous system and connect you to nature.
It is perfect for any family that: loves nature, enjoys time to be mindful and fully appreciated life and/or for families that feel like they are always trying to catch their breath in amongst the daily chaos of life!
Hosted at Abingdon Abbey Buildings, a medieval venue with a beautiful private garden, you will immerse yourselves in nature with activities such as listening to natural soundscapes and singing bowls, making your very own natural bath bomb and other gentle crafts!
Please read below for more details. The activities are best suited to ages 3-16 year-olds, but younger siblings are welcome as there will be some quiet activities for them to get involved in. Please do get in touch if you have any questions about the event’s suitability for your family, we are committed to it being a welcoming space for all.
WHO
Carrie of Totally Zen is a holistic practitioner specialising in aromatherapy, reflexology and reiki. She is passionate about the mind, body and spirit connection and nurturing with nature. You can find her online at www.totallyzen.co.uk or on Instagram @totallyzen_always.
Becky of Roam & Rewild is a nature mindfulness guide that specialises in connecting families to nature and rewilding their lives. She has a background in environmental conservation but is a qualified Nature Mindfulness Leader and Tree Babies instructor. WHAT + WHEN
Please try to arrive 5-10 minutes early so that you can feel the full relaxing benefit of the retreat from the start and please know that we have access to the venue for a few hours afterwards, so if you would like to just relax and connect with other like-minded families afterwards, you are absolutely welcome to.
PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PICNIC BLANKET, LUNCH + TRAVEL CUPS so we can keep this an earth-friendly event!

Please note that the floors are uneven and there are some steps up to toilet facilities, so the venue is not wheelchair or pram friendly throughout. Please send us a message if you have any specific queries about accessibility.

WHY
An immersive and gentle experience that will bring you away from the chaos of life and into the present moment, allowing you to connect with your family and nature. It will equip you with skills and knowledge to take into your life going forward so that you can naturally boost your mental and physical wellbeing.
Please note that if your littles (aged 3 minimum) struggle to sit down for activities, don’t worry! We will have quiet activities to the side of the main activity so that everyone can enjoy their mindful time. We have also scheduled lots of break times and time for wriggles or loo breaks.
