A pond dipping event for all the family at The Pond in Castle Meadows, Castle Street, Abergavenny.

Come along and discover sustainable pond dipping techniques, learn how to identify pond life with a name trail map, and record the findings for biodiversity surveys.
You can also have a go at wildlife watercolour painting of the creatures you find or the beautiful surrounding views of the meadows.
TICKETS: One ticket per family. This event in run on a donation/pay what you feel basis. The pond life identification resource by The Field Studies Council will be available to purchase for £4 on the day.
Please note: The hay is unlikely to be cut in June and we have been asked to stick to the paths in the meadow. The best route to get to the pond is through the Community Orchard.
SAFETY:
Children must be supervised around the pond at all times.
Pond dipping is permitted on the platform only. Please do not allow children to pond dip on the banks of the pond.
Hand washing will be available at all times. Please ensure that you wash your hands after pond dipping due to the minor risk of leptospirosis.
Members of the public will be using the meadow during this session. Please be aware that I cannot be held responsible for the actions of members of the public and any interference caused to this event.
