Event description

Description

There is now a growing understanding that sensory processing disorders make a massive impact on our day, and it is now part of the diagnostic criteria for Autistic Spectrum Disorders, and has proven to be a part of ADHD too. It is a condition in which the brain has trouble receiving and responding to information that comes in through the senses. This half-day training session will explore this in more detail and give you a deeper understanding of the condition and how it manifests itself. It will also help you gain an understanding of the types of things that may cause a sensory overload, help explain the resulting behaviours, which can then help determine ways to eliminate or manage the issues.

This session will concentrate on this specific part of spectrum to give you easy solutions for you to implement to reduce the anxiety your child, or even your whole family, may be experiencing.

This knowledge can have a huge impact on reducing what can be interpreted as challenging behaviour and control and make day to day life so much easier.

This half day session is open to parents and carers in the morning, with a particular focus on supporting Children and Young People. The sessions include refreshments.
