Family Sign Language; Training the Trainer, London

- Would you like training so that you can use our highly successful Family Sign Language Curriculum (FSLC) teaching resource?
- Do you have Level 3 NVQ BSL or equivalent knowledge?
Day One - Colleagues from the Deafness, Cognition and Language (DCAL) Research Centre, University College London, will focus on language acquisition of BSL, BSL linguistics, storytelling skills and Sign Bilingualism. Day Two - We will focus on practice, looking at how to deliver the FSLC, lesson planning, differentiation, creating resources and micro-teaching activities. Our training is highly interactive and practical with a mix of presentations, case studies and small group activities. Day One is delivered in BSL and English, and Day Two is in BSL only.
What are the entry requirements?
All participants must have the following minimum skills and experience:
- Level 3 NVQ BSL or equivalent, or native BSL user;
- Experience of working with families of young deaf children;
- Basic BSL linguistics knowledge;
- Good English skills
Who is the course for?
Education professionals working directly with families of deaf children, such as; Deaf Instructors, Inclusion workers, Family Support workers, who are intending to deliver Family Sign Language courses to families with deaf children, aged 0 to 5 years old.
How much does it cost?
£220 per delegate for the 2 day programme, all course materials and your own copy of the FSL toolkit. Payable via credit/debit card, cheque and invoice.
Do I need to do any prep before attending?
No, however we do ask that you complete the following survey before attending (to be updated in due course)

Can I give my place to a friend or colleague if I can't come?
Yes, however you must notify us in advance, at least 5 days before the workshop takes place via firstname.lastname@example.org
What if I need to cancel?
In the event the
Delegate cancels 20 working days or less before the planned date, a charge of 100% of the total cost will be made
Delegate cancels 21 - 30 working days before the planned date, a charge of 50% will be made
Delegate cancels 31 working days before the planned date, no charge will be made.
