Join us for this family workshop to learn all about our local bees and butterflies, and paint a pot and sow a seed to take home and grow.
About this event
Britain is home to many fascinating butterflies and bees, as we get closer to the summer you may be seeing more around the local area.
At this workshop you and your family will learn how to identify and support these species during a walk around the grounds and nature trails.
We will then help our pollinators by sowing the seeds of pollinator friendly flowers on site. Our garden team will look after them and plant them out in the Marsh Community Garden as soon as they are strong enough.
As well as planting seeds for the community garden, you will also decorate your own plant pot and sow a sunflower seed in it to take home and grow. How tall will yours become by the end of the summer?!
This is an ideal workshop for any families who would like to play an active role in wildlife conservation and learn how to attract bees and butterflies to their home.
Please note this workshop is not suitable for children under four years of age due to possible hazards from some of the materials being used. Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times, but adults do not require their own ticket. The café will be open during the workshop so you can treat yourself to a hot drink during the walk or as the children are getting creative.
