Event description

Description

The Fan Museum is closed and not taking any bookings for the workshops until further notice.

Following careful consideration of the current course of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to implement a planned closure of The Fan Museum until further notice.

We have made this decision in the interests of the health and wellbeing of our staff, volunteers, partners and visitors.

Please check our webiste for updates and for any enquiries please email info@thefanmuseum.org.uk

The class starts at 14.00 and lasts approximately 3 hours during which time the participants will make two fans: one of the traditional Chinese shape, the other of the Fontange shape, an early 20th century design. Fan Sticks, equipment and tea/coffee and biscuits are provided by the Museum, all you have to bring with you is two different sheets of paper (size A2 or above). Gift wrap is suitable, but not too shiny or folded.

Admission to the Museum is included in the price of the workshop: if you wish to have a good look around the permanent collection and temporary exhibition you are advised to come at least an hour before the class is due to start, as the Museum closes at 17:00.

The Orangery is open from 12.30 for light refreshments.
