Fanon, Alienation and Freedom: a public lecture by Jean Khalfa
Tue 25 April 2017, 18:30 – 20:30 BST
6.30pm - 8.30pm
Free. The Space
In 2015 Jean Khalfa and Robert Young published with La Découverte a 700-page critical edition of texts by Frantz Fanon that had never been published, or were barely accessible, including two remarkable plays and a significant correspondence. These texts will be published in English by Bloomsbury in 2017.
In this public lecture Jean Khalfa will explore how these texts shed a new light on Fanon’s writings on alienation and freedom and reveal his understanding of problems to come, some of which we are experiencing now.
Nottingham Contemporary’s public programme is jointly funded by Nottingham Trent University and The University of Nottingham.
