Fantastic Fossils of Filey Brigg

Discover the fascinating geological history of Filey Brigg and go in search of marine fossils! Uncover fossilised oyster beds, explore ancient seabeds and learn about local folklore.

Embrace your wild side - what to expect:

This event is suitable for adults and children. This event involves a 2-3 mile walk along the beach over sand and rocky shore. Children of all ages are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.

What to bring/wear

This event takes place outside so brace yourself for the Yorkshire weather! You will need sturdy, waterproof footwear or wellies to explore the rockpools and lots of layers. If it's a hot day remember to bring water, a hat and sun cream.

Toilets and catering

Please be aware that Yorkshire Wildlife Trust do not have facilities in Filey. However, there are a number of public toilets and catering facilities nearby.

Please meet outside Filey Sailing Club (Arndale Way, Filey YO14 9EW).

Parking

There is a council-owned car park at Filey Brigg Country Park - charges apply.
