This 6-week online oil painting class will explore colour and various types of mark marking with a focus on different ways of painting the sky. Oil paint is a fantastic medium for painting the drama of Autumnal skies and we will explore a different artist each week, both historical and contemporary, for the first four sessions. In the final two sessions there will be a chance to create your own composition. We will experiment with colour mixing, using coloured grounds and a variety of paint techniques.
This class is suitable for people who have some basic experience of painting, however the various technques of oil painting will be explained. We will learn new techniques as we go along in relation to the artists we look at. This is a fun and friendly class where you can experiment with new techniques from the comfort of your own home while also being part of a group.
The numbers are limited to allow for enough tuition and to create a group dynamic. A materials list will be emailed to you on receipt of ticket confirmation. It is also suitable for acrylic painters if that is your preferred medium.
