Event description

Description

The inaugural Fantasy Frontbench Debate marks the official launch of the partnership between UCL Public Policy - UCL’s flagship initiative to build engagement between researchers and policymakers - and the not-for-profit digital democracy service Fantasy Frontbench, which aims to engage people in the process of politics and policy-making.

A live panel will address the question: Is the UK doing enough about climate change?

The debate will be chaired by Helen Czerski, Physicist, Oceanographer and Broadcaster, co-chaired by a youth representative and feature a number of high-profile speakers including Natalie Bennett, former leader of the Green Party, Prof. Mark Maslin, UCL academic and author of Climate Change: A Very Short Introduction and Dr. Emily Shuckburgh, deputy head of the Polar Oceans Team at the British Antarctic Survey and co-author of Climate Change (A Ladybird Expert Book).

The event will be live broadcast via Facebook Live; there will be a strong emphasis on interactive participation of both those in the room and those watching online.

Please note: We will begin live broadcasting at 7.00pm, as such please ensure you are in the auditorium by 6.45pm.

UCL Public Policy oversubscribes public events as we are aware not all attendees can make it on the night, as such tickets are as a reservation only and seats at the event are on a first come first served basis. Please arrive promptly to secure your place.
