Experience Caryl Churchill's haunting masterpiece "Far Away" in the unique setting of Ambika P3. Produced by Lost Text/Found Space, directed by Rebecca McCutcheon, and performed by Lizzie Hopley, Lorna Dale, and Samuel Gosrani this urgently relevant site-specific production explores truth, war, and survival in our fractured world. Running 5-23 August 2025.

"If it's a party, why was there so much blood?"

In an age of fake news, rising populism, and global conflict, Churchill's prophetic vision feels more urgent than ever.

Joan can't sleep. She hears screaming outside. Her auntie Harper says it's an owl, but she's not sure. She thought she saw her uncle in the distance, wielding an iron bar.

Years later, and the screaming hasn't stopped. The whole world is at war; the animals and birds too. They say the crocodiles are always in the wrong, that deer terrorise shopping malls, and that all the wasps have to go.

But the deer have been with Joan and Harper for weeks, their goodness shining through their soft brown eyes. So what then is the truth?

A powerful artistic response to our post-truth era, this production explores the propaganda, fearmongering, and political brutalism that increasingly shape our world.

Performed in one of London's most exciting new spaces Ambika P3, hidden in the heart of London, this new site-responsive production promises an immersive and intimate experience that brings new life to "the most significant play of this millennium" (Simon Stephens).

25 years since its debut at the Royal Court, this unique revival of Caryl Churchill's masterful surrealist play offers a vital meditation on complicity, resistance, and the courage to question what we're told.

Ambika P3 is one of London's most exciting and distinctive cultural spaces, located in central London within the University of Westminster's Marylebone campus. Originally built as a concrete testing hall, this remarkable brutalist space has been transformed into "one of the capital's hidden and most exciting new spaces" (The Guardian).

The venue's industrial architecture and unique atmosphere make it the perfect setting for innovative, site-specific productions. With its soaring concrete columns, dramatic lighting possibilities, and raw architectural beauty, Ambika P3 offers audiences an immersive experience unlike traditional theatre spaces.

This marks one of the first theatrical productions to take full advantage of the space's potential, following previous acclaimed presentations including ENO's "Powder Her Face" (2014). The venue's central London location, just minutes from Oxford Circus and Baker Street, makes it easily accessible whilst maintaining its character as a hidden cultural gem.

This production is made possible through the generous support of Arts Council England and the University of Westminster.
