Event description

Description

This critically acclaimed multimedia production features the songs, poems and stories of World War One as it follows the journey of young Scots soldier Jimmy McDonald through the trenches.

With a cast of 26 performers, including Scottish folk scene favourites such as Barbara Dickson, Siobhan Miller, Dick Gaughan, Ian McCalman, Professor Gary West, Stephen Quigg and Ian Bruce, the songs of the war are seamlessly linked by narrator Iain Anderson and accompanied by a range of projected images, bringing to life Scotland's contribution to the war effort both on the front line and at home.

Falling under Scotland's Armistice centenary commemorations, the Oban show is part of a ten-venue tour of the production being delivered by WW100 Scotland in partnership with Legion Scotland and Poppyscotland. For more information about the tour and other venues and dates visit bit.ly/FarFarFromYpres.

Doors open at 7:00pm for a 7:30pm start. Seating is not allocated and the audience will be directed to seats on the night on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tickets are also available in person at the Corran Halls or by calling 01631 567 333.
