About this event

  • 4 hours

Currently regarded as one of the leading contemporary jazz pianists and composers of the Middle East, Faraj Suleiman is set to return to Europe with his band after his success of touring the Arab region.

The Palestinian composer will play songs from his newest album "Upright Biano" alongside chosen songs from "Better than Berlin” carrying the sounds and words of daily Palestinian life and struggles; between joy and depression, escape and belonging, playful jeunesse and the horrifying questions of ageing.

Faraj pays homage to the daily Palestinian resistance with his songs that are now regional anthems with musical images of love and migration that linger in the shadows of colonialism.

The artistic collaboration between Faraj and Majd Kayyal, his lyricist and right-hand, is an audience favourite as the two reflect the feelings of millions and captivate the audience’s unsaid words with a piano and brilliantly put-together lyrics.

- This is a standing event

- Any minor to be accompanied by 18+.
