Event description

How is 2018 going so far? Are you looking forward to a reboot; a year full of opportunities, or are you struggling with the double whammy of post-Christmas blues allied with Seasonal Affective Disorder? Most of us completed the holiday season with a combination of event overload, social media inundation and family obligation discharged. Some carry additional burdens; the loss of a loved one, the end of a relationship or the challenge of single parenting. Work expectations can further underscore a sense of impending doom.

If you uttered the ‘Happy’ of ‘Happy New Year’ through gritted teeth without any conviction, maybe it’s time to look at booking a structured programme to help you realign your focus; to learn transferable techniques to cope better. Rather than resort to a new gym membership to punish your indulgences and proclivities, you need to find a solution which helps you get your head on straight.

It’s necessary to stop and find a still point. Stepping away from the 9-5 grind for a weekend is no longer seen as an indulgence. For many of us, time out operates as an important safety valve to our pressure cooker lifestyle. Constant connectivity and information overload may mean that even an idyllic break fails to provide the reset which you crave. We are often overstimulated and overwhelmed by world crises, showy lifestyles of our peer group and the endless drudgery of paying bills. We may ask ourselves how to keep up and how to be happy, not really know what the benchmark for ‘happy’ really is.

We need to look at what we can change – our mind-set. Exhaustion and burn-out are the alternatives.

Adventure travel doesn’t always mean trekking to Everest Base Camp, kayaking the Amazon or bungee jumping into the Grand Canyon. Sometimes, a real adventure is heading inside, exploring the realms of our inner world. Such a trip may be a more arduous climb than any Himalayan mountain range; it can mean more effort than any self-propelled water sport and the highs and lows can release more endorphins than any death defying plunge. Our program promotes mental focus, inner calm and a chance to soul search, equipping you with tools to make 2018 your best year yet. Start to feel inspired about your daily meditation practice, learn the importance of sleep, hydration and affirmation and create a positive mind set to move your life forward. These tools will change your life.

Experience and enjoy:

Waking up to calming meditation sessions led by a Buddhist monk;

Learning the pitfalls of modern life including :

-sleep deprivation;

-poor hydration;

-inadequate goal setting; and

-struggling to ‘let go’.

Creating vision boards to goal set for the year ahead;

Delicious nutritious food to revitalise your body and mind;

Taking away your own bespoke apothecary product created with our experienced herbalist;

Stretching in an inclusive yoga class;

Encountering essential oils to improve your mood.

Will this be all new age and spiritual?

No. The speakers approach their subjects from a scientific perspective. Our friend, the Buddhist monk, obviously has a background which is both fascinating and insightful with cross over lessons for the traditional western lifestyle and will share aspects of his practice.
